How We Do Things…

We at River Crest Shilohs are committed to the health, sound temperament and continual improvement of the Shiloh Shepherd Dog. Working with knowledgeable and trusted mentors and having years of experience with this amazing breed. You will be assured of open honest information about our dogs and their pedigrees.

By two years of age our dogs are health tested extensively at the University of TN Veterinary Clinic in Knoxville, TN. Click on the “Our Dogs” tab above to view this information.

Our goal is to produce healthy Shiloh puppies that will become cherished family members. We hope our puppy buyers become extended family members of River Crest Shilohs.

Companion Puppies
Companion pup contract states that you agree to have hips x-rayed and the puppy spayed or neutered between 14-18 months of age. You agree to feed a quality grain free diet and maintain proper veterinary care.

We promise a well socialized puppy from parents that have excellent temperaments and health testing results.

Your puppy will be registered with the TSSR and receive its first set of puppy shots, worming, Veterinary clearance as well as being Micro-chipped. Please review our Puppy Contract for complete details and health guarantee.

A puppy LER (Litter Evaluation Report) will be completed at 7-8 weeks of age. This information from the LER along with our observation of the puppies first 8 weeks of life will help us determine the best puppy for your family and life style.

Show/Breeding Prospects
If you are interested in a show/breeding puppy our contract states that we will co-own the dog with you. Registries rules and health requirements must be met before an upgradable to Breeding Certificate is awarded. Your puppy will be registered with either the TSSR, NSBR or the WSSBA.

Females: Our knowledge will help you to choose the best stud for the first two breeding’s with us receiving a puppy back or the price of the puppy. More information is available in our upgradable contract.

Male: If you purchase a male we will be allowed to use him twice for stud purposes to the female of our choice.

If you are an experienced Shiloh Breeder other options can discussed.

How Do I Get One?
Puppies are sold to select homes only.

  1. You must complete the puppy pre-adoption application on our website or we will mail one if requested. Please provide as much information as possible along with the name and phone # of your veterinarian.
  2. We will contact you after reviewing your application to discuss any questions you may have about the Shiloh breed or our contract and we will answer any question you have. As responsible breeders we offer a lifetime of support.
  3. To secure your place on our puppy list you will need to send a deposit of $250.00. Puppy placement is guaranteed by the order of deposits received. Deposit is only refundable if the breeding was unsuccessful or we do not have your preferred gender. If circumstances dictate and you cannot take a puppy at the time the litter is ready to go to their forever homes we will move your deposit to another breeding.

When all of these steps have been completed you will be regularly informed on the progress of this breeding. We will share the litter’s journey from birth until the time you receive your new fluffy family puppy. Puppies can be shipped by Delta Cargo out of Nashville, TN. Weather permitting. Puppy buyer is responsible for cost of approx $450 (includes crate). We hope that you will be able to visit River Crest Shilohs to pick up your new puppy in person and meet our entire Shiloh family.
